Chaney High School was one of two traditional public high schools in the city of Youngstown, Ohio. It is a part of the Youngstown City School District system. It was closed and changed into a Vocal Performing Arts school as well as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) school in 2011.

Chaney's athletic teams were known as the Cowboys (Cowgirls for girls sports, excluding track, who were known as the "Lady Cowboys"). Baseball, basketball, bowling, football, and track were sponsored for boys. Basketball, bowling, cheer leading, softball, volleyball, and track were sponsored for girls.
Although the football team never won a state title (their best finish was a loss in the Division-III state championship game in 1997), Chaney produced several college standouts and NFL athletes, such as former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL MVP Frank Sinkwich,[1] Jerry Olsavsky, Michael Zordich, Matt Cavanaugh, Anthony Floyd, Brad Smith and Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Keilen Dykes.
Chaney also won more city titles than any other school prior to the 2006–2007 school year when the Youngstown City Series was dissolved.[citation needed] The Chaney football team played their last season in the 2010–2011 school year due to the reorganization of the Youngstown City School District.
