Channel One is a Bengali language satellite television channel from Bangladesh. It started broadcasting from Dhaka on 24 January 2006.[1] It is owned by the One Entertainment Limited, a sister concern of One Group.

This third generation television channel is the last private television in Bangladesh. Channel One was an infotainment channel by nature. Its office was in Gulshan of Dhaka city. News times were: 8 am, 12 pm, 2.30 pm, 6.30 pm, 7.30 pm, 10.00 pm, 12.30 am and 3.00 am in Bangladesh Time.

The channel went off the air on 27 April 2010 at 6:41 PM while it was broadcasting its news bulletin. The Awami League government decided to stop its operation on some licensing issues. However, the Channel One authority claims that they have not done anything illegal. Journalists say that the Awami League government shut down the channel as it was broadcasting news that was critical of the ruling government.
