General Sir Charles Huxtable KCB CBE DL (born 22 July 1931) is a former Commander in Chief, UK Land Forces.

[edit] Army career
Educated at Wellington College, Charles Huxtable was commissioned into the Duke of Wellington's Regiment in February 1952 and served as a platoon commander in the latter stages of the Korean War.[1] In 1967 he served as a Company Commander in Cyprus.[2]
In 1980 he was appointed Commander of Land Forces in Northern Ireland.[3] He was Director of Army Staff Duties between 1982 and 1983 and then Commander of Training and Arms Directors at the Ministry of Defence from 1983 to 1986.[1] He was Quartermaster-General from 1986 to 1988.[1]
He served as the Commander in Chief, UK Land Forces from 1988 to 1990 when he retired.

In retirement he has served as a member of the Prime Minister's Advisory Committee on Business Appointments.[4]
