The Charlotte Bobcats are an American professional basketball team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. They play in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA).[1] The Bobcats were established in 2004 as an expansion team,[2] two seasons after Charlotte's previous NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets, relocated to New Orleans and became the New Orleans Hornets.[3] The Bobcats have played their home games at the Time Warner Cable Arena, formerly known as the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, since 2005.[4] Their principal owner is Michael Jordan, with founding owner Robert L. Johnson and Cornell Haynes holding minority interests. Their current staffs consists of Rod Higgins as president of basketball operations, Rich Cho as general manager and Paul Silas as head coach.[5][6][7][8]

There have been 71 past and current players who have appeared in at least one game for the Bobcats franchise. To date, no Bobcat has been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Gerald Wallace is the only Bobcat selected to play in an All-Star Game. Five players have received rookie-related honors. Emeka Okafor was named the 2004–05 Rookie of the Year[9] and voted to the All-Rookie First Team.[10] Four Bobcats were selected to the All-Rookie Second Team: Raymond Felton (2005–06), Adam Morrison and Wálter Herrmann (2006–07), and D. J. Augustin (2008–09).[10][11] Seven players were born outside the United States. Alexis Ajinça, drafted in 2008, was the first foreign-born player to be selected by the Bobcats.[12] Wallace is the franchise's all-time leading scorer with 5,714 points. Okafor leads all players in rebounds with 3,516 and Felton leads all players in assists with 2,250.
