Chaska Middle School East was awarded a Five-Star school for the 2004-2005 school year.

Currently, the Sixth Grade families are: Watermelon Wombats, Green Gators, and Black Bears; Seventh Grade: Golden Gophers and Purple Eagles; Eighth Grade: Pink Panthers and Teal Timberwolves
