Cheil Jedang (known as CJ), is a Korean conglomerate that separated from its parent company, Samsung by the oldest son of the founder of Samsung, Lee Byung Chul, Maeng Hee Lee. It is currently owned and managed by the song and daughter of Maeang Hee Lee. CJ is traditionally famous for food products, including processed and prepackaged foods and most notably, sugar but has recently expanded into finance and entertainment. CJ also recently opened a chain of large, multiplex movie theatres under the name CGV. becoming one of the largest congolomerate group (Chaebol) in Korea.
