Chhachhar is a Muslim Jat clan found in Punjab,Sindh, Pakistan.

The Chhachhar claim Mughal origin, and claim descent from the famous king Timur.[1] chhachhar are also found in sindh in district Ghotki, Sukkur, kandhakot, jamshoro, TandoAllahyar, Hyderabad, thar, saeedabad, Mir pur Khas etc.

The Chachar are found in Sargodha, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Okara and Lodhran districts of Punjab. Basirpur in Okara District is an important village of the tribe. In Sindh mostly Chachar(s) are resident in Ghotki, Sukkur and Kandhakot. Gamero is famous village of Chachars. chachar in sindh are found in district jamshoro village wadda Chacharis the important village of chhachhar tribe in Jamshoro And chachar(s) are also found in tandoAllahyar,saeed abad,thar and Mir pur Khas etc.

Alhaj Sardar Haji Khan Chachar Leader of Chachar tribe is most prominent personality of Chachars. and also (Mir Ghulam Asger Khan Chachar)from kashmore senior member of PAKISTAN PEOPLES PARTY* Mian Iftikhar Hussain Chachar is prominent Chachar in this region and was elected as Member of provincial assembly of Punjab. Most of the Chachar(s) are landlords and they used to grow of potato, wheat, rice, cucumber, sugar and maize crops.

Mian iftikhar hussain chhachhar was elected as MPA in 2002 and was youngest parliamentarian of Punjab province. Other notable in the area are Mian Nazar Muhammad chhachhar, mian ghulam rasool chhachhar, mian ghulam mohy ud din chhachhar, mian muhammad hanif chhachhar, mian busharat ali chhachhar. the chairmanship of basir pur has remaiined with chhachhar family since long and Mian Zafar ali chhachhar was the first chairman of the council. Alhaj Haji Khan Chachar is leader of chachar tribe lives at Pano Aqil. He had remained MPA of Sindh Assembly once.
