Chicago (Chicago/State) is an 'L' station on the CTA's Red Line. It is a subway station with two side platforms, located at 800 North State Street—underneath the intersection of Chicago Avenue and State Street—in the River North neighborhood of Chicago's Near North Side. The station serves the Magnificent Mile including the Water Tower, the Rush Street entertainment district, and the downtown campus of Loyola University Chicago.

Chicago opened as part of the State Street Subway on October 17, 1943.[2] It was identical in design to Grand to the south. From 2000 to 2001 the station was extensively renovated, including the addition of elevators to meet the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
