Chico's is a retail women's clothing chain founded in 1983 by a three-person operation on Sanibel Island, Florida.
The company currently operates 1,084 women's clothing stores, including stores in 48 states, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, operating under the Chico's, White House | Black Market, and Soma Intimates brands. It also publishes the Boston Proper catalogs. On April 20, 2005, the company was identified by the Bellwether Report and the analysts began to track the company because of its significant corporate development during that time.
