Chikkodi (Kannada: ಚಿಕ್ಕೋಡಿ) is a town in Belagavi district in the state of Karnataka, India.

Chikkodi is located at 16°26′N 74°36′E / 16.43°N 74.6°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 683 metres (2240 feet). It is an Educational District.

As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Chikkodi had a population of 32,820. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Chikkodi has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 79% and female literacy of 66%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. This is the second most populous taluka of Belagavi District. The Taluka is having 102 inhabited villages . It consists of rich sugar belt, as Farming is a major activity of the area. The taluka has 3 Sugar Factories in its belt. Krisna, Vedaganga, Dudhganga rivers made the land fertile and precious for agriculture. Nowadays trend of Siri Culture is in boom in this area.
Little history of Chikkodi: before 200–300 years ago, chikkodi was called as chikk - kodi (small village) where as neearer Hirekodi (big village) was bigger than chikkodi. After couple of years, chikkodi had growth due to its famous beatle leaves & was center for major roads.

Chandrakori Ganesh Temple, near Bus Stand is a very famous temple of lord Ganesha.There is one more temple known as Parati Nagalingeswara temple, is located about 2.5 KM away from the bus stand.
Donawad is one of the place near by chikodi which is approx 15 km from chikodi.This place is popular for tradition. The Lord Kalmeshwara Temple is famous in this place. it is one of good place to live.
