The U.S. city of Boise, Idaho was once home to a Chinatown between the years of 1866 to 1972 around the corner of Grove and Seventh Streets.[1] According to another source, archaeological digs have yielded many Chinese household goods that existed in abundance in the area of the Chinatown.[2] "The Hip Sing Building at the center of Boise's Chinatown was leveled to make way for urban renewal."[3] Arthur A. Hart documents the reasons why the Chinese came to this region and how they garnered respect from the white community.[4]
