Chirang is the name of the new district formed in the BTC area of Assam. Chirang is also an old spelling for the Tsirang district of Bhutan. Chirang has been carved from the Bongaigaon District of Assam and is 80% inhabited by Bodo people and rest 20% are occupied by the refugees from Bangladesh.
