Formed in 1919, the RKE won five seats in the Constituent Assembly elections that year. It went onto win seven seats in the 1920 elections, eight seats in the 1923 elections, five seats in the 1926 elections and four seats in the 1929 elections.
In 1932 the party merged with the Estonian Labour Party, the Estonian People's Party and the Landlords' Party to form the National Centre Party. The new party finished second in the elections that year.
