Close Quarter Combat (CQC) or Close Quarter Battle (CQB) is combat, usually in warfare, that takes place at close range and typically in confined spaces. Common venues for CQB are urban areas, jungles or large vehicles such as aircraft and ships. CQB is characterized by rapid fire and movement at the pair, fireteam or section level, lack of clear front lines or areas of control, and the profligate use of automatic fire, grenades and light antitank weapons.
