The Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit is a branch of the UK Medical Research Council. Based in Cambridge, England since its creation during World War II it remains at the forefront of its field.

In an effort to increase the amount of access scientists within the unit have to advanced neuro-imaging equipment, the CBU has added its own Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner to the Chaucer Road site. A 306-channel MEG system is expected to be functional at the beginning of 2007, in addition to an already existing 64-channel EEG system.
