College & Research Libraries is a bimonthly peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Association of College and Research Libraries. It was established in December 1939 and was published quarterly for its first 18 years and bimonthly since 1956. It publishes articles that are intended to help academic librarians to build an intellectual framework to serve the needs of collegiate users. The journal publishes research articles, scholarly pieces calling for the definition or redefinition of changing standards within the field, and a multitude of book reviews. The current editor-in-chief is Joseph J. Branin (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology).

The journal is open access since 2011.[1]
