Cologne Business School GmbH (CBS) is a private business school established in 1993 in the city of Cologne, Germany. The business school is a state-recognized[4] university of applied science and conducts research in many fields. CBS was established in 2011 in cooperation with Dr. Juergen Meyer Foundation a research program focused on business ethics, corporate governance and corporate social responsibility.[5] In April 2013, the board elected Elisabeth Fröhlich as new president for the organization after Markus Raueiser.[6]

The CBS campus consists of three main buildings and is located in the Neustadt Süd area of Cologne.[7]

Rankings[edit]

In the 2014–2015 Center for Higher Education rankings, Cologne Business School was ranked among the three best business schools in Germany for their master degree programs.[8] Additionally the business school noted top score and recognized for "international orientation", "international orientation master", and "practical relevance". The MBA program has been recognized as one of the most popular in Europe.[9]

Academic programs[edit]

The academic program is designed in course modules where two or more courses make up one module. Most programs are taught entirely in English with the exception of general management. Industrial and organizational psychology at the Bachelor level is taught entirely in German.[10]

Partner universities[edit]

CBS has over 70 partner universities. Many of the partner universities have an exchange program with the business school resulting in a large number of international students at campus. For the English-speaking Bachelor programs, an exchange semester is mandatory and for Master's degree programs, an exchange program is voluntary through application to a requested university in the last semester.[11]
