Comedy Circus is a reality-based comedy show that brings India's TV celebrities to perform with professional comedian partners on a highly competitive and challenging stage. The current season of comedy circus, Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe, is being judged by Archana Puran Singh and Arbaaz Khan. Sohail Khan Shekhar Suman, Satish Shah, Rohit Shetty, Johnny Lever, Ajay Jadeja, Tusshar Kapoor, Daler Mehndi have also judged it. It's a show which uses improvisation, and all forms of humour in order to make the people laugh.

Kante Ki Takkar[edit]

It was the third season of Comedy Circus titled as Kante Ki Takkar was judged by Archana Puran Singh and Shekhar Suman and was hosted by Purbi Joshi. It featured the competition amongst the contestants that were from Comdey Circus 1 and Comedy Circus 2

Comedy Circus – Chinchpokli to China[edit]

Chinchpokli to China was judged by Archana Puran Singh and Shekhar Suman and was hosted by Purbi Joshi. Child actors Nandini Kapoor and Siddharth Sagar presented special segments of comedy towards the end of the episodes as well as co-hosting the show. The alternating contestant pairs were Shweta Tiwari and Ashutosh Kaushik, Kuldeep and Roshni Chopra, Ehsaan Qureshi and Payal Rohatgi, Sucheta Trivedi and Paresh, VIP and Shweta Gulati, Ali Asgar and Kuldeep, Swapnil Joshi and Sharad Kelkar, Kavita Kaushik and Rajiv Nigam, Kuldeep and Rajiv Nigam, Shailesh Lodha and Neha Marda, Mona Singh and Rehman, Khayali and Nigaar Khan, Rehman and Sucheta, Kuldeep and Sucheta.

During the Parde ke Peechhe segment, special acts were performed by celebrities like Shekhar Suman, Shreyas Talpade, Arshad Warsi, Tanushree Dutta, Arbaaz Khan, Abhijeet Sawant, Hussain, Divya Dutta, Rakesh Bedi, and Vidya Malavade with combinations of performers Krushna Abhishek, Sudesh Lehri, Rajeev Thakur, Rehman Khan, VIP, Rajiv Nigam, Ali Asgar, Shoma Rathod, Swapnil Joshi, Sharad Kelkar, Apara Mehta, and Suneel Saawra.

Comedy Circus 20–20[edit]

After the third season billed as Kaante Ki Takkar followed by a non- competitive comedy show Comedy Circus – Chinchpokli To China the show returned again as a competition again but unlike the earlier 3 seasons there were no eliminations and the total score during the whole series was taken into account to find the winner. This was in accordance to the title of the show 20–20, where the participants played their innings(performance) and earned runs (scores by judges).

Shruti seth returned as the host replacing Purbi Joshi who had hosted the show for Season 3 (Chinchpokli to China).

Besides the participants, the show also had celebrities and comedians from previous seasons making cameo appearances, often under disguises. The show would end with a sequence named "extra innings" where V.I.P. & Prince played a comedy skit.

Comedy Circus 3 Ka Tadka premiered on 24 October 2009.[5] The first episode also contained Jacqueline Fernandez and Ritesh Deshmukh as co-judges.[6]

Comedy Circus – Maha Sangram involved contestants of three previous seasons of Comedy Circus. Archana represents season 1, Shekhar represents season 2 and Rohit represents season 3. Teams are scored by the opposite team representatives and the audience watching the show to determine eliminations. The winner of this show Swapnil Joshi and VIP for their splendid performance in the final.[7]

Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur[edit]

Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur involved the stand up comedians from all parts of India as well as comedians and contestants from previous seasons. There are two members in all teams in which one is a comedian and the another one is a TV Actor/Actress. This season is judged by Archana Puran Singh and Sohail Khan who on the first episode announced that the winner will get a nice role in one of his productions. There are also different super stars from Bollywood as celebrity guest judges.[8]

Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe[edit]

Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe (English: Wonders of Comedy Circus) is a comedy Reality show that replaced Kahani Comedy Circus Ki started from 9 September 2012. There are three members in all teams in which two are comedian from previous seasons and TV Actor/Actress and the other one is a comedian auditioned from different cities from India. This season is judged by Archana Puran Singh and Sohail Khan. When Sohail Khan started filming his upcoming Jai Ho (film), his brother Arbaaz Khan replaced as a judge. Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe airs on Sony Entertainment Television India and Sony Entertainment Television Asia. In this season, there have been many guest judges coming for promotions such as Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal for their film OMG: Oh My God!, Anil Kapoor for Race 2, Adnan Sami for his new album Press Play, Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma for Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, Ranbir Kapoor for Barfi, Kareena Kapoor for Heroine, Preeti Zinta for Ishq In Paris, Rani Mukherjee for Aiyya, John Abraham for shootout at Wadala, Dharmendra and Bobby Deol for Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, Mallika Sherawat for Kismat Love Paisa Dilli, producer of the Optimystix Vipul Shah for villain special episode and Tusshar Kapoor and Ravi Kishan for Bajate Raho on Bajate Raho special episode after grand finale.

Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali[edit]

Comedy Circus Ke Mahabali is the newest season of Comedy Circus which started on 26 July 2013 with auditions taking place in Lucknow and Amritsar. The first episode aired on 2 August 2013 with host Shruti Seth returning for another season. The judges will be yet again Archana Puran Singh as well as Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan. Popular actress of yesteryear dance Helen (actress) was a guest judge on the show. The format of the show has two teams with Sudesh Lehri and Krushna Abhishek as leaders of one team and Bharti Singh and Shakeel Siddiqui as the leaders of the opposing team. Each team has their warriors "yodhas". Among Sudesh and Krishna's team are their new talent from last season Siddharth Sagar paired with Rakhi Sawant and new talents who have auditioned. Among Bharti and Shakeel's team are RJ Mantra from the previous season and Mubin who was Kapil Sharma's new talent in the previous season. Also is Jamie J Lever who is daughter of famous comedian Johny Lever. She had auditioned as a new talent. Rajeev Goldy(Laugh India Laugh) is another new talent who had auditioned and also Khusbhoo Grewal is a Punjabi Film and Hindi television actress, VJ and a singer from India. In this season there have been many guest judges for promotion of the films.
