Following the introduction of Tenpin Bowling in the programme of the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, the Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Federation was formed.

There was no tenpin bowling in the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, so the inaugural Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships were held in Stirling, Scotland.
[edit] Paphos 2006
In 2006 the second Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships were held in Paphos, Cyprus.
