The Computer Go Ladder facilitates regular, informal competition between computer Go programs, both on 9x9 and 19x19 boards. The ladder employs a handicapping system to allow matching and tracking of programs. Challenges and news are announced on a mailing list. Games are typically played on the Internet Go server.
For 9x9 board competition, it has effectively been supplanted by the Computer Go Server, where many programs compete constantly.
