The lone Congressional District of San Juan City is the representation of the San Juan City in the Philippine House of Representatives. It was established after Mandaluyong City was granted its own representation in 1995. From 1907 until 1972, it was part of the representation of Rizal Province. During the duration of the Interim Batasang Pambansa from 1978 to 1984, it was part of the representation of the Region IV and from 1984 to 1995, it was grouped with Mandaluyong for their representation in the Regular Batasang Pambansa and the restored House of Representatives in 1987, as part of the Lone District of San Juan-Mandaluyong. In the 1960's, San Juan was part of the First District of Rizal Province. The Representative of the First District of Rizal was Eddie Ilarde, who was also a famous host/emcee of the very popular television program, Student Canteen, at that time. Eddie Ilarde was again elected as an Assemblyman in 1978 to represent Metro Manila (which includes San Juan).
