Its jurisdiction includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
In 2009, as the David Coleman Headley-Tahawwur Hussain Rana case progressed, files from the consulate of India in Chicago that were about the two men, accused by India as being Lashkar-e-Toiba operatives, disappeared from the consulate property.
