Cook Out is a fast food privately owned restaurant chain in North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Virginia. Founded in Greensboro, the chain has since expanded throughout the state and now has drive-thru restaurants in over fifty cities. Most locations consist of a double drive-thru and outdoor seating. The chain itself has grown in size with many locations now spread throughout Virginia. [3]
Cook Out was created by Morris Reaves.[4] He is currently the owner of the company, with his son Jeremy Reaves serving as CEO. As of August 2011 there are 88 locations. The original Cook-Out opened on Randleman Road in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The restaurant specializes in grilled hamburgers and hotdogs (cook-out style), chicken sandwiches, and North Carolina barbecue. They also have milkshakes.
Cookout caters to Christian customers by playing Christian music over the intercom and printing various Bible verses on their cups and bags. Their packaging displays a variety of religious phrases printed, for example, “John 3:16″ and “God Bless America” are printed on the cups, “God Bless the USA” and “Galatians 6:10″ are printed on the french fry bags, and “THANK YOU GOD FOR AMERICA” and “Psalms 119:165″ are printed on the full size bags, but Bible verses vary.
The company headquarters location used to be located in Adams Farm in Greensboro, NC but has moved to Archdale, NC.
The company opened its first out-of-state store in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on July 30, 2010.[5] Cook Out opened in Clemson and Orangeburg, South Carolina, in 2010. Plans are in the works for more expansion in South Carolina and Virginia.[6] At the very end of 2011, Cook Out opened a restaurant in Columbia, South Carolina.
