[edit] Plot

Callie Carpenter (Vinessa Shaw) is a misguided teenager sent to stay for the summer with her aunt and uncle, Maggie and Mitchell Foster (Cindy Pickett and Ed Lauter), on their horse ranch. Callie becomes friends with horse trainer Rafe Acuna (Adam Beach), who teaches her to ride. She helps him discover that something is seriously amiss with Kia, a "wild" thoroughbred horse. When Snapper (Bruce Weitz), a horse trainer gone bad, tries to sell Kia illegally, Callie relies on her street smarts to outwit Snapper. Rafe and Callie figure out that to save Kia, they must prove he really is a champion.

[edit] Production

Paul "Sled" Reynolds served as the head horse trainer for the film.

[edit] Release

The movie was redistributed by Feature Films for Families in 2003.
