Banovina of Croatia[edit]

Within the Banovina of Croatia, the Croatian Football Federation organized a national team which competed internationally, but was not FIFA-recognized.

Independent State of Croatia[edit]

As the Independent State of Croatia, Croatia was admitted as a FIFA member on July 17, 1941. Croatia played one international match as an independent state before its FIFA membership - against Germany on June 15, 1941.
