Cryptomail
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The term cryptomail (a portmanteau of "cryptography" and "mail") refers to the use of cryptography in an e-mail in order to obscure the message content to all but the sender and the recipient.
The term was coined by CryptoMail.org in 1999, when the organization began providing a secure web-based e-mail service and e-mail system. Today, most e-mail clients such as Microsoft Office Outlook, Outlook Express and Kmail include facilities to send/receive encrypted e-mail.
