Curse Ov Dialect is a Melbourne, Australia based music group. They were the first Australian and Australian-accented hip-hop outfit to score a record deal in the United States with the 2003 album Lost in the Real sky, on Los Angeles Indie Label Mush Records. The music conveys a strong anti-racist message and a call for human unity. Its members represent a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds - Anglo-Indian, Pakistani, Maltese, Macedonian, and Anglo-Maori - and the polycultural element is matched in the samples within their music - politically conscious rap with ethnomusicological sources and a hip hop base. They have toured extensively through Western and Eastern Europe, United States and Japan from 2004-2010.
Curse Ov Dialect are different to most Hip hop practitioners as they perform in Folk costumes from their individual cultural Backgrounds.
