DZSR (918 AM) - better known as Sports Radio 918 - is an AM station owned and operated by Philippine Broadcasting Service in the Philippines. The programming and the format of the station is Sports. the station's studio is located at 4th Floor, PIA Building, Visayas Avenue, Barangay Vasra, Diliman, Quezon City, and the transmitter is located at Malolos City, Bulacan. DZSR operates daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m (Mondays To Sundays), except Holy Week of each year where it signs-off at 10:00 p.m. of Holy Wednesday and lasts until 6:00 a.m. of Easter Sunday.
DZSR is a radio network that focuses primarily on sports programs and coverages. This is the only sports radio station in Southeast Asia. The station is also the official radio station for the Philippine Basketball League.
It also covers the Southeast Asian Games, the Asian Games, the Palarong Pambansa and the Olympic Games on a limited basis such as reporting and covering important events. It is the official carrier of Radyo PBA, covering the Philippine Basketball Association. Radyo PBA also simulcasted over 5 Radyo5 News FM stations & 8 Radyo ng Bayan provincial stations across the archapelago.
On February 1, 2010, it changed its callsign to DWSY. The "SY" means Sports & Youth. Because of this callsign change, they expanded their programming from sports-related shows to youth-oriented programs. The youth programs of DWSY usually air on weekends.
As 2010 ends, DWSY has changed back to DZSR Sports Radio 918.
Among its features is a Saturday weekend program from 6 to 10 pm on Saturday nights called MID-EVENING WITH THE BEATLES which features not only the songs of the British pop group but also the stories behind the songs, and not to mention the latest news on The Beatles as well.
