Dallas Divas & Daughters is a reality television program on the Style Network very similar to The Real Housewives of... series.
Season 1 of the show premiered on October 4, 2009, featuring wealthy women and their daughters living in the Dallas, Texas area.
One of the goals of the show was to dispel some of the myths and perceptions about Texas lifestyles. [1] "[W]hile some cast members might live in stunning homes and drive fancy cars, they are still doing the same sort of daily activities as everyone else, so they are relatable," stated the Associated Press. The series focuses on the "socially active and wealthy" Dallasites and includes glimpses into events such as polo matches and black-tie events.
As described by Pegasus News, [2] the narrative is a real-life Mean Girls The series cast includes "Pamela and Hannah, 'the aristocrats'; Kenya and Chanel, 'the princesses'; Cindy and Courtney, 'the heartbreakers'; and Brenda and Laura, 'the debutantes.' But then there's Patricia and Jacky, “the wannabes.' While they live in the Highland Park area and wear all the fancy clothing, Patricia and Jacky live in an apartment. Add to that, they're chronically late to every high society function (when they're invited) and Patricia is accused by other mom Pamela for always wearing (gasp!) bad make-up."
