This is the Danish monarchs family tree from 1047 to the present ruler, queen Margrethe II of Denmark.

- Prince Joachim and Princess Alexandra have two sons: Nikolai and Felix.
- Prince Joachim and Princess Alexandra are now divorced. Alexandra is now allowed the title Countess of Frederiksborg. She married Martin Jørgensen on March 3, 2007.
- Prince Joachim married Marie Cavallier on May 24, 2008. She is now Princess Marie of Denmark. Prince Joachim and Princess Marie have a son, Prince Henrik of Denmark who was born on May 4, 2009.
- Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary have a son (Christian) and a daughter (Isabella). On August 9, 2010, the palace announced that the crown prince couple are expecting twins in January 2011.
- Queen Margrethe II ascended the throne in 1972, but no Danish monarch has been crowned since Denmark became a constitutional monarchy in 1849.
