Datawrite, formed in 1992, is a major importer and distributor to the UK of blank CD and DVD media. They sell CDs manufactured by many different companies, but branded with their own labels including DataSafe, DataWrite, and Titanium. They also supply USB Pen Drives, Media Carry Cases, Press Kits, Memory Cards, Disk Management Systems and Marker Pens, among other items. DataWrite is a UK-based version of DataSafe Media.
There was some criticism during 2006 that a very popular DVD-R sold under the Datawrite Titanium brand, underwent a cost-cutting exercise in which the packaging, disk edge and writing performance were all altered while the branding remained unchanged.[citation needed]
