David H. Faber (born March 10, 1964) is a financial journalist and market news analyst for the television cable network CNBC. He is currently the co-host of CNBC's The Strategy Session, and appears on the show Squawk on the Street.

Faber joined CNBC in 1993 after seven years at Institutional Investor. He has been dubbed "The Brain" by CNBC co-workers. He has hosted several documentaries on corporations such as Wal-Mart and eBay; the Wal-Mart piece, The Age of Walmart, earned Faber a 2005 Peabody Award and an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for Broadcast Journalism.[1]
In 2001, Faber was considered to be a strong contender for the co-anchor chair of CNN's then-popular Moneyline.[2]
In addition to Squawk on the Street, Faber hosts the network's monthly program, Business Nation, which debuted on January 24, 2007.
Faber is the author of three books; The Faber Report (2002), And Then the Roof Caved In (2009), and House of Cards: The Origins of the Collapse (2010).[1]

Faber is the son of businesswoman Belle B. Faber and lawyer Norman L. Faber, and married Jenny Harris in 2000.[3] Jenny is a business journalist and television producer and is the daughter of lawyer Jay Harris (Hall Dickler Kent Friedman & Wood) and As The World Turns actress Marie Masters, and the fraternal twin sister of musician Jesse Harris.[4] He is a 1985 graduate cum laude of Tufts University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.[1][5]
