David Preece (born 26 August 1976) is an English football player, who plays as a goalkeeper for English Football League Championship club Barnsley F.C.. He has previously played for Sunderland and Darlington in England, as well as Scottish team Aberdeen and Danish teams Silkeborg IF and Odense BK.

Preece signed a one-year contract, with the option to extend the contract by a further year.

On February 9, 2011, he was announced as a columnist for the popular Scottish football blog "Scheidt's Footballing Miscellany".^[1]
