David Lawee in 2008

David Lawee is a Canadian born entrepreneur. He earned a philosophy degree at the University of Western Ontario, a law degree at McGill University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

David currently works at Google as VP of Corporate Development.

David's experience as a serial entrepreneur and VC gives him a unique lens on the M&A landscape. He is extremely well respected in Silicon Valley [1]. Prior to leading Google's M&A team, David was the VP of marketing at Google, leading consumer, B2B and channel marketing worldwide. Before joining Google, David was a co-founder of Xfire , a gaming social networking service that was acquired by Viacom for $108M. Before that he was the co-founder of Mosaic Venture Partners, a $130M VC fund based in Toronto. David started his career at McKinsey & Co..

David is married to Lorna Borenstein [2], who launched eBay Canada, was later head of Yahoo Personals, and was then president of Move Inc., the operator of Realtor.com [3] until she resigned in March 2009.
