The DeSoto was DeSoto's only model in 1961, and their last vehicle. It was available as a two- or four-door hardtop. It was essentially a Chrysler Newport with a DeSoto front end. Base power came from the 361 2bbl. It sold only about 3,000 units.
For 1962, the Dodge 880 essentially replaced the DeSoto DeSoto as the bridge gap between the Dodge Polara and Chrysler Newport.
