[edit] History

Dead Man In Reno formed together under the name Silent Fall in 2003 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The five-piece played shows locally for years until they decided to change their name to Dead Man in Reno. They later signed a three-album deal with Candlelight Records in May 2006. Dead Man in Reno recorded their self-titled debut (the only album released in stores and the only album with the original lineup) with Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, Through the Eyes of the Dead's Producer) and toured throughout the summer preceding to their album's September release. The band toured Scotland, England, and Wales with headlining band Sikth, also returning to the United States to do many tours. Candlelight Records went under leaving the band on their own. With no luck finding a new label the band put money together to record a never released record in January 2008 in Oakland, California with producer Zack Oran, (All Shall Perish). Months after the record was done due to financial reasons and the band members growing in separate directions Dead Man in Reno broke up in mid 2008, then have gotten back together in late September 2009 with some old familiar faces. George Edmondson (drums/vox) and Sam Conyers (vox) once again have joined the ranks of the Dead Men. Chris Penuel moved, and Kris Gottlieb was brought in to take the reins of lead guitar. In early 2011 Andy Green joined to fill spot left open by bassist Drew Shelnutt, who left for personal reasons. Not sure what lies ahead for DMIR, but more changes will take place before it is finally over.

[edit] Band members

Dead Man in Reno began as a five piece, with Sam Conyers as the vocalist, Chris Penuel and Justin Sansom played guitar, Drew Shelnutt played bass, and George Edmondson played drums and did back-up vocals. The band felt the need to part ways with their vocalist, Sam, and Justin Samson, formerly the guitarist, moved to lead vocals. That left an empty slot open for a guitarist, so Stuart Ogran, formerly of bands such as Worthy of Suffering and After the Masquerade, was recruited as the new guitarist. The lineup then stood as Stuart, Chris, Justin, Drew, and George. In the coming months, George felt that it was necessary to part ways with the group for personal reasons. After that, Dead Man In Reno went through a number of drummers filling in, none of them working out successfully until Brian Huggins was asked to play drums for the band. After recording Ideology, George Edmondson returned as the drummer, and Sam Conyers returned to the vocals spot. Justin Sansom fell back to his spot on guitar, and Kris Gottlieb was recruited to play lead. In early 2011, Drew Shelnutt felt his time was done with the band, and Andy Green was asked to join to play bass.
