The Thunderbirds form up into the Delta.

Delta Formation is a formation flying manoeuvre in the shape of a V. It is used by the United States Air Force's Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds. It is a famous formation of the Thunderbirds[1] and is usually performed at the end of the show, when all the six aircraft come together.

Advantages[edit]

Like birds, the delta formation uses the wingtip vortices created by the airplanes in the front to add an additional lift to the airplane spending less energy in the flight.[citation needed]
