Deobia Oparei is a London born[citation needed] actor perhaps best known for his role as the Gunner in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and as Thundarian in Your Highness.
Oparei's acting career in the early 1990s included minor television roles, he spent the mid-1990s performing as a Drag Queen in Sydney and is 7 foot tall in platform heels. He returned to the UK towards the end of the 90s getting his first major film role being cast as Le Chocolat in Moulin Rouge in 2001.
