Dervish Mehmed Pasha (Turkish: Derviş Mehmed Paşa; died 9 December 1606) was an Ottoman statesman that served as the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire briefly between 21 June 1606 – 9 December 1606.

Origin[edit]

He was from Bosnia[1][2] (see Bosnia Eyalet and Sanjak of Bosnia), and was born Christian, being brought away by the Ottomans as part of the devşirme, becoming a Janissary. He rose in the court ranks and became bostancibasi.[2]

He was the bey of Herzegovina.[when?]

He was the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire briefly between 21 June 1606 – 9 December 1606.[3] A telhis of Dervish Mehmed to the sultan spoke of him changing the Voivode of Moldavia from Constantin Movila to Simion Movila (1606).[4]

He was murdered.[2] He was buried at Üsküdar.[2]
