O Desafio dos Bandeirantes ("The Challenge of the Bandeirantes") is a fantasy/history role playing game written and released in Brazil in 1992.
Authors Luiz Eduardo Ricon, Carlos Klimick and Flavio Andrade created a fantasy setting based on Brazilian History and folklore.
O Desafio dos Bandeirantes was published by GSA, the same publisher of Tagmar and Millenia, other Brazilian RPGs.
The core book was titled Aventuras na Terra de Santa Cruz (Adventures in the Land of the Holy Cross) and there were 3 supplements released:
- A Floresta do Medo / O Engenho (The Forest of Fear / The Farm) - a module with two ready-to-run adventures
- Os Quilombos da Lua (Quilombos of the Moon) - focused on slavery and Afro-Brazilian culture (including rules for Capoeira)
- O Vale dos Acritós (Valley of the Acritós) - focused on native Brazilian culture (including rules for Uka-Uka, a native martial arts)
The game was discontinued in 1996 when GSA shut down.
