The Dingles are a family in the British soap Emmerdale. They were originally introduced in 1994 and were first portrayed as a family of local thugs, but were quickly changed into lovable rogues. Known for having a large extended family, almost all members of the family have Biblical names and often get into trouble with the law.[citation needed]
