District Management Areas

(Redirected from District Management Area)
District Management Areas (DMAs) are parts of South African district municipalities that are directly run by the district as opposed to being part of a local municipality. The DMAs are usually national parks, or in western parts of South Africa also are isolated areas of very low population density.
The Municipal Demarcation Board has expressed its intention to eliminate DMAs and integrate them into existing local municipalities at the 2011 local elections.[1]
The table shows the 2007 census population of the DMAs.[2]
