Occupation Founder and Creative Director, Domenico Vacca

Domenico Vacca is an Italian designer and fashion brand.

[1][2]

Early life[edit]

Born in the South of Italy, Vacca‘s family was for decades deeply rooted in the craft of fashion. His grandmother had a fashion house in Andria, Bari, that was known for its hand sewn, unique creations. As a boy, he started developing his amazing sense of style just by spending time at his grandmother’s atelier.

Education[edit]

University of Bari, Italy Georgetown University, Washington DC New York University, New York (Master Degree)

Career[edit]

Several master degrees and an excellent career in business, in Milan first and then in New York, although successful, were not what he had in mind for his life in the fashion capitals of the world. Eventually, in 1998 he felt the need to go back to what he really enjoyed, the world of high-end fashion that he knew so well. But fashion as we know it was not enough. In 2002 Domenico Vacca, combining his sophisticated aesthetic with his incredible business skills, launched his own eponymous label for men and women. A store on New York’s Fifth Avenue was just the natural evolution, and the beginning of an ever-evolving fashion empire, spearheading the sartorial trend in fashion. By combining the best of Italian craftsmanship, superb fabrics, and an impeccable fit with a contemporary Italian cut, the Domenico Vacca label is known as the “Ferrari of clothing”.
