Dominik Cristina García-Lorido (born August 16, 1983) is an American actress known for playing roles in The Lost City as Mercedes Fellove and City Island as Vivian Rizzo (the daughter of the character played by actor Andy García, also her real life father). Recently she played the role of Mercedes Lazaro in the 2012 drama Magic City on the Starz network.

Early life[edit]

García-Lorido was born in Miami, Florida, the daughter of Maria Victoria "Marivi" Lorido and actor Andy García.[1][2] She is the eldest of four children, with sisters Daniella, Alessandra, and brother Andrés. Her parents are both of Cuban descent, and her father was born in Havana.[3] She grew up in Los Angeles and began dancing at the age of three.

Career[edit]

García-Lorido's debut was in 2005's The Lost City, a film directed by her father, who also starred in it, having taken 15 years to enter production. It reinforced Dominik García-Lorido's desire to act professionally and also work more with her father.

Dominik García-Lorido's acting career has continued to flourish with more substantial roles in films of increasing importance. In 2008, she had roles in three films, including the racially charged drama I Am Somebody: No Chance in Hell, crime-themed Reflections and La Linea, which features Ray Liotta and Andy Garcia in a story about an assassination attempt on a drug kingpin. In 2009, Dominik García-Lorido starred as Vivian Rizzo in City Island, a comedy costarring her father, along with Emily Mortimer, Julianna Margulies, and Alan Arkin.
