DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando – Lake Buena Vista is a 229-room all suite hotel[1] located within the Downtown Disney Resort Area. The hotel is located on the property of the Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

The hotel originally opened on March 15, 1987 as the Pickett Suites Resort. It completed a $2 million renovation in 2005 and another update in 2008, which included the addition of DoubleTree's new Sweet Dreams bed within the guestrooms. The hotel is managed by the Hilton Hotels Corporation.

Branding history[edit]

In December 1989, Guest Quarters acquired the Pickett Suites brand, and the Pickett Suites Resort was re-flagged as a Guest Quarters Suite Hotel shortly afterward. Four years later Doubletree Hotels acquired the Guest Quarters brand; the former Guest Quarters Suite Hotels were re-flagged as DoubleTree Guest Suite hotels during the first half of 1995. Although Doubletree's parent has since been acquired by Hilton Hotels Corporation, no changes have been made to this particular property's branding.
