Dow Jones Stoxx 50 is a stock index of European stocks designed by Stoxx Ltd, a joint venture of Deutsche Boerse AG, Dow Jones and SIX Swiss Exchange. Its goal is "to provide a blue-chip representation of Supersector leaders in Europe" according to Stoxx.
