Dr. Julius Strangepork was a character on The Muppet Show. He was a Muppet pig, who most often appeared with Miss Piggy and Link Hogthrob in the recurring Pigs in Space skit, in which he was the science officer on the USS Swinetrek. He wore wire-rim glasses and sported wide, bushy grey sideburns.
His name is a reference to the eccentric scientist in Stanley Kubrick's film, Dr. Strangelove.
A similar design first appeared in the original pilot, Sex and Violence, named Doctor Nauga in the skit Return to Beneath the Planet of the Pigs, and the following At the Dance skit. During the first season of the Muppet Show, a similar puppet was used in the At the Dance skits (usually dancing with Miss Piggy or one of the dancers). The main difference between these puppet designs was the hair color—the Season One pig had brown hair, not gray. By the time he appeared in Pigs in Space, the design had reverted to its original format. Dr. Julius Strangepork is seen various time after time in the 2011, The Muppets
