Dream is a popular GPL licensed open source software implementation of a Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) receiver that runs on FreeBSD, Linux, Apple Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows.

Most inexpensive shortwave receivers sold commercially can be used to decode DRM broadcasts, by simply connecting them to a computer via the sound card (often though the use of an external 455 kHz to 12 kHz IF adapter) and running the Dream software on the host computer.[1] This can be a more attractive option for people wishing to listen to DRM broadcasts than purchasing an expensive stand-alone DRM receiver, which may cost $100 or more.
