Conroy Ryder, 8th Earl of Harrowby
Dudley Adrian Conroy Ryder, 8th Earl of Harrowby (known as Conroy[1][2] born 18 March 1951) is a British aristocrat. He was known as Viscount Sandon from 1987 until 2007.
Harrowby was the only son of Dudley Ryder, 7th Earl of Harrowby. His mother is Jeanette Rosalthe Johnston-Saint. His sister is Rosalthé Frances Ryder (now Lady Rosalthé Rundall).[3]
He was educated at Eton, the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He became director of Compton Street Securities in 1988.[3]
He succeeded to the earldom on the death of his father on 9 October 2007.
The family seat is Sandon Hall in Staffordshire, England. The family also resides at Burnt Norton House, made famous by T. S. Eliot's Four Quartets.
He is married to interior designer and author the The Rt Hon. Countess of Harrowby, Caroline Markes.
