John Dwight Smith (born November 8, 1963 in Tallahassee, Florida) is a former Major League Baseball outfielder who played from 1989 to 1996.
In 1989, Smith finished second in balloting for National League Rookie of the Year behind teammate Jerome Walton, who collected 22 of 24 first-place votes.
Smith appeared in the 1995 World Series as a member of the Atlanta Braves, who won the Series that season over the Cleveland Indians.
His son, Dwight Smith Jr., was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays, 53rd overall, in the 2011 First Year Player Draft on June 6, 2011.
